Do I need a visa to study in Turkey?
Students who are not Turkish citizens require a student visa to enter Turkey. Student visas must be obtained from a Turkish Consulate, prior to your departure from your home country or the accredited Consulate, if Turkey is not represented in your home country. International students must provide their letter of acceptance from their prospective education institution during the visa application.

In order to apply for Residence Permit, you need to have a valid health insurance.

According to the latest regulations international students have to obtain a one-year valid health insurance for each year they are planning to stay in the country.

How to Get a Mobile SimCard in Turkey?

If you wish to purchase a local carrier’s SimCard (for cheaper fares) you can visit any local carrier’s Office with your passport, to apply for a pre-paid TouristCard.

Yet the cheaper deal would be to purchase a SimCard, only offered to residents in Turkey, available with longer term contracts, like one or two years. For that, you shall need to have your Residence Permit issued first.
