The Central Clinic has been serving as a prestigious health center for more than half a century. The hospital building was designed in 1963 and opened for use on 01.10.1965. Ministry of Health of the Azerbaijan SSR IV. The Hospital No. 1 of the General Directorate was transferred to the hospital operating at another address at that time and started to be operated here. The first chief physician of the hospital was Mecid Alasgar oglu Haciyev, an outstanding health worker and organizer. This 300-bed hospital provides medical services to a private association, especially including government officials and public figures, and is popularly known as "Dechkomissiya" Dechkomissiya.

In the first years of the independence of the republic, the Rehabilitation Department of the Ministry of Health served as the No. 1 Hospital, but later the hospital building was rebuilt in accordance with international standards. since 24.04.2001, the Central Klinika Hospital, which was managed by the AHSEL Holding Company of the Republic of Turkey for 10 years, was then transferred to the Private Medical Service of the President of Azerbaijan. On June 25, 2009, in line with the development of the Central Clinic, the Outpatient Clinic started to provide services at another address. This polyclinic building was built in 1895 and has had a modern appearance since 2008.

Currently, the Central Clinic is located at three different addresses in Baku: the hospital is located at 76 Parlament Boulevard, the Polyclinic is located at 5 Zarifa Aliyeva and Khagani Streets, and in Ganja, Bagbanlar Totanli Street at 17, 90 D offers dentistry and hospital services.

The necessity and importance of creating a Central Clinic stems from the socio-economic problems of the transition period associated with the collapse of the Soviet Union and the proclamation of an independent republic. During this period, health institutions were worn out in terms of equipment and technologies, which prevented the provision of health services to the public at the required level. Citizens often had to go abroad for treatment, and this caused a decrease in trust in the health system. The establishment of the Central Clinic highlights the urgency of creating a high-standard health institution in the country.
